Mung Bean With Fig Dessert

Mung beans are packed with nutrition and high in dietry fiber. Figs contain good levels of potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, copper and manganese. Dried figs contain twice the amount of calcium compared to whole milk.

Mung Bean With Fig Dessert Recipe
  • 2 cups mung beans
  • 8 dried figs
  • Brown sugar
  • 1.5 ltr filtered water

Directions
  1. Bring water to boil in a pot
  2. Boil mung beans and figs over low-medium heat for 1 hour
  3. Add brown sugar to taste and boil for another 10 minutes

Serves 3-4

Thanks for this recipe! I made it yesterday evening. Had a whole bag of dried figs I didn't know what else to do with. ^_^

Great! Always wondered the outcome of my recipes in someone else's kitchen coz I'm using an induction top where I can't really control the heat.

I never used figs in my life. It was this aunty at the morning market that taught me how to boil veggie soup with figs :)

They're yummy in hot cereal, soups and stews too!

Oh, another thing you could do with figs is make red date and fig tea. It's good for ladies. ;)

Will have to make that for the blog soon.
